Poured into a snifter, it has a hazy orange-amber hue with a short-lived cream-coloured head. No sign of bubbles. Aroma of orangey citrus, sweet, candyish malt, and alcohol. Smells like dessert!

Velvety-smooth texture with full body. Starts out sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, and orange oil, then a bold, resinous bitterness sweeps over the palate, bringing some citrus & piney hop notes and fruity esters. Tangy finish lingers delightfully. Carries it’s significant alcohol content amazingly well – very little burn. Flavours blend and smooth out some as it warms – don’t serve too cold!

Bold, flavourful, complex and substantial beer. The hops stand out at this young age, but there’s still plenty of malt present. This should cellar quite nicely.

Pours a bright honey gold hue with a chill haze. The off-white head falls quickly to a thin layer and collar with a patch of medium and large bubbles. Leaves some lace on the glass. Aroma of American hops with piney and citric notes, some floral character, and an almost candyish edge. Very appetizing.

Moderately full bodied. Very fine, spritzy carbonation keeps it from being too heavy or cloying. Loads of bitter citrus up front, heavy on the grapefruit, followed by some light caramel malt, then a resinous, piney note. Huge hop flavours dominate, with just enough malt to support the whole thing. A hophead’s delight! There is some burn from the alcohol, most noticeable in the finish, mixed in with the lingering bitter, citrusy hops. Leaves a nice resiny taste on the tongue.

Excellent double IPA with plenty of American hop character, as you’d expect. Ought to pair nicely with a good bleu cheese or Buffalo wings.

I roused the yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle and served it with the beer. Pours a very cloudy deep burnished gold-to-pale amber with a generous pillow of near-white foam that subsides to an 1/8" layer. Aroma of pale malt with fruity (some banana & Juicy Fruit) & clovey notes. Very appetizing. Body on the lighter side of medium, lightly carbonated, with a smooth feel on the palate. Classic heffie flavours - mild banana, clove, light vanilla & bubblegum notes, all over clean, pale malt. Mild bittering balances the beer, leading into a gently fading finish. Beautifully balanced and thirst quenching. Now all I need is a Brewers or Packers game and some brats!

Pours a gorgeous coppery-orange, brilliant and clear, with an eggshell coloured head that falls to a collar and large foamy patch. Massive American hop aroma, with orange peel and pine. Full bodied with a velvety, creamy texture. Enormous hops on the palate - loads of citrus peel and resinous pine with substantial bitterness. There's malt underneath - with some biscuity and caramel character, but it's mainly supporting the hop overload. Big, lingering resiny finish with some floral & citric hop notes. Alcohol is evident but not overwhelming. As it warms, a honeyish note shows up. Beautifully integrated, massive brew. Some light lace remains on the glass. Goes nicely with Tandoori chicken, saag paneer and malai kofta.
