The Hottenroth Berliner Weisse from The Bruery in Placentia, CA pours out a light, golden lemon in color with some haze (unfiltered) and a frothy, snow white head that sticks around briefly. On the nose aromas of lemon zest, yeast and a little wheat funkiness. In the mouth this comes through sour with lemon and lime tones as well as yeast and earthy flavors. Medium carbonation. Nice lacing. Light bodied. Crisp, clean mouthfeel. Continues tart through the finish with some breadiness coming in. A wonderful, refreshing brew that is tart and very refreshing.
