The Seasonal Twilight Ale from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon pours out a deep gold in color with nice clarity and a two finger, white head that slowly reduces to a film. On the nose this is very hoppy with grapefruit rind, floral and pine backed up by some orange and honey. In the mouth you first taste the the hops with bitter grapefruit that becomes almost prickly followed by just a little sweet malt and some fruit mid-palate. Light side of medium bodied. Nice lacing. Moderate carbonation. Cream and oil in the mouthfeel. Off dry on the finish with good hoppiness. A great hoppy pale ale that you can enjoy while you sit back and chill on the porch on a warm summer evening watching the sun set. I'd call this the ultimate Summer Session Beer.
