The Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale from Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, California pours out a rich gold in color with nice clarity, nice streams of active bubbles and a one finger white head that goes away fairly quickly. On the nose this is very hoppy with aromas of grapefruit juice with some sweet malt but the grapefruit dominates. In the mouth the flavors of grapefruit are potent again with a good hop bite and underlying sweetness. Some grains there too but not very pronounced. Medium bodied. Nice carbonation. Good lacing. Slight syrup in the mouthfeel. A persistant sweet finish with good hop flavors. Not what you would expect from a wheat beer but very good indeed.
