Category: Beer Tasting

The Raison D'Etre from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, Delaware pours out a reddish-brown in color with good clarity and a very thin head that disappears almost immediately. On the nose aromas of dried dark fruit, spice, sweet malt and a little booze. In the mouth this is quite sweet at first then becomes a little prickly on the tongue with a slight metallic after taste. Well carbonated. Medium bodied. Little lacing. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. This is fairly good but not something I think I'd seek out.

12 ounce bottle, 8.00% ABV
